This year you’ll see us at the landgoedfair Beesd again! This landgoedfair is held at Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt. During 5 days you’ll be able to shop beautiful products, enjoy wonderful food and see all kinds of demonstrations with animals. Last year was Canndles first year on the landgoedfair and boy did we love it!

When: 21 – 25 August, everyday from 10:00 to 18:00 h.

Where: Landgoed Mariënwaerdt, Oude Waag 21, 4153BC Beesd (the Netherlands).

Most asked questions

Is it free to enter?

No, you’ll have to buy a ticket on the website of the Landgoedfair. Tickets cost €12.50.

Do I have to pay for parking?

Yes, parking costs €5,- which will be spend on walking trails (Stichting Stap voor Stap).

Where’s your stand?

Our stand is in a different location from last year. This year we have a stall in the orchard, near the demonstration ring.

Can I pay by card?

At the Canndle stand you can pay with your debit card or with cash. At the entrance you can also use your debit card, but it is possible there are market stalls where you can only pay cash. Please keep in mind there’s no ATM at the Landgoedfair.

Can I personalise a candle while on the Landgoedfair?

Although this was possible last year, we won’t be offering personalised candles this year. You can order a personalised candle and it will be made after the Landgoedfair Beesd, after that we’ll send it to you.

Do I have to buy tickets before the landgoedfair Beesd?

It’s possible to order your tickets beforehand, but you can also buy them at the entrance.

Visit us at our pop up store at Nieuwegein Cityplaza

Although we primarily sell via internet, we sometimes attend markets. But this time we’re trying something new. At the 19th and 20th of april 2024 we’ll have our own pop up store at Nieuwegein Cityplaza. For this pop up shop we bought and made a lot of new products, so come visit us at our very own (temporary) store!

When: 19th and 20th of april 2024.
Where: Nieuwegein Cityplaza, you’ll find the pop up store next to the Odido shop near the Jumbo supermarket.
Opening times: Friday april 19th: 9:30 – 18:00 h & saturday april 20th: 10:00 – 17:00 h.

FAQ about pop up store

Can I park close to the pop up store?

Yes, Nieuwegein Cityplaza has several parking garages near the store. You can park at Cityplaza, Stadstheater or Stadhuis. Please note that it is paid parking.

I want to buy a personalised candle, can I do that in the store or only online?

It is possible to buy a personalised candle in the store. We’ll personalise it while your waiting so you can go home with your candle.

Is it possible to pick up an online order in the store?

That depends on the date of the online order and if the candle is in stock. When it is in stock and you chose local pickup we’ll send you an email with the possibilities of pickup dates. If you prefer to pick up your candle in the store, please leave a note when ordering so we can make it happen for you.

Live workshop candle making on saturday

On saturday the 20th of april you’ll also be able to witness a workshop candle making in the pop up store. Starting 13:30 there’ll be a group who gets to make their own beautiful candles. For more information on the workshop you can visit our candle making workshop page.

Spirit of Winter Christmas market at Paleis Soestdijk

This week we received a not so fun message. Unfortunately the first Christmas market of the year that we planned on attending has been canceled. But luckily for us there’s another wonderful market planned called Spirit of Winter. We really hope you will meet us at Paleis Soestdijk at Baarn on Spirit of Winter Christmas market.

When: 16 – 19 november 2023, Everyday from 11:00 to 20:00 except on Sunday: 11:00 to 18:00.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available online via the Spirit of winter website. Tickets are also available at the door. There might be long lines though, so ordering online is the best option.

Can I park there?

Yes, you can park there. There’s a limited number of parking tickets available for the parking lot next to Paleis Soestdijk. When this parking is full, you’ll have to park externally.

Do I have to pay for parking?

Yes, you will have to pay for parking. A parking ticket can be bought through the website or on the spot. Please keep in mind that when the parking lot is full you’ll have to park somewhere else and you’ll have to buy a parking ticket externally. Parking costs €12.50.

Can I pay by card on Spirit of Winter?

When paying at the Canndle stand you definitely can! There may be some stand holders that don’t have the possibility to pay by card though, so it’s probably a good option to have some cash on you. Or just buy everything at the Canndle stand.

I don’t have a car, can I come by public transport?

You sure can! Get out at bus stop Colenso. Please keep in mind that not al public transport drives on sundays.

Can I also visit Paleis Soestdijk?

Definitely. You can buy combined tickets for Spirit of Winter and a visit to Paleis Soestdijk.

We know, we know. The summer hasn’t even ended yet. But for us the Christmas season starts early. Not only are we busy with our Christmas products but we are also choosing at which Christmas markets you will find us. And this year we chose the Castle Christmas Fair at Landgoed Beeckestijn (Velsen-Zuid, near Amsterdam).

When: 16 – 19 November, everyday from 10:00 to 22:00 h. except on sunday: 10:00 to 18:00 h.

This was Landgoedfair Mariënwaerdt 2023

It’s been a little over a week since the Landgoedfair at Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt ended. This was our very first market that lasted more than 2 days and we didn’t really know what to expect. Luckily we were able to make some extra inventory because you guys sold some of our items out on the very first day! We happily share some snapshots of the Landgoedfair with you.

See you next year?

We really loved the people and the ambiance of the Landgoedfair but what we loved most were the lovely talks with you, our customers. We loved that a lot of you, when walking up to our table, thought our candles were soap. We loved that you discussed between yourselves which scents you loved and which you absolutely didn’t (spoiler alert: it’s different for everyone. Scent is very personal). But most of all we loved the beautiful girl that came back to us saying: I already followed you on TikTok! We can’t put into words what it means that our little brand that started at the kitchen table is now being recognized and even has some followers. We want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and we really, REALLY hope to see you all again next year!

Best selling candles

Which candles did best at the Landgoedfair? We’ll tell you which ones we couldn’t keep up with and which ones we took back home with us.

The best selling candles were (of course) the succulent candles. The mini and the big succulent just look like little pieces of art and that makes them very wanted. Although almost every single customer (and non-customer) said: ‘It’s almost to beautiful too burn!’

Also good sellers were the scented candles in concrete vessel. They always sell really well at markets, so we made sure we had more then enough of them.

The surprise of the market was the dough bowl candle. This doesn’t sell really well online but it killed it at the market.

From the 16th to the 20th of August you’ll find us at the landgoedfair Mariënwaerdt. This market is held for the 27th time and boy it looks promising! With unique products, demonstrations and workshops there’s something for everyone. Canndle can be found at stand LH8 at the Lingehof. Will you come say hi to us? At this fair we’ll have special market discounts and one of a kind candles so make sure you don’t miss it!
